About Jaci Johnson
More Than a Professional Wrestler
I was just a child when I first dreamt of becoming a professional Wrestler. Ever determined and never willing to give up on the dream and sport I loved, I sacrificed much, enduring times of challenge and hardship, in order to reach the pinnacle of the athletic world.
As a teen I did a little modeling, but nothing big. I was really too shy for it. Later on, and tricked by some friends, I was convinced to audition for the movie Miss Congeniality. I did make the director laugh but I have to say, I think I was more of a glorified extra. Oddly, on the set, I met fellow Pro Wrestler, Paul London. A few years later I would go on to work in wrestling as well. I was in one other movie, The Rookie and a music video. Fun stuff!
I began working in Independent Pro Wrestling on January 2003 in Maple Grove, MN at a promotion called Midwest Pro Wrestling (MPW) and went on to work promotions such as ACW-NWA (WI), RWC (NC) among various other promotions in MN, WI, IL, IN, NC, SC, and W.VA.
As a kid, my dad and step-sister were really into watching Pro Wrestling. I watched it with them and was immediately hooked to the storylines. I was a HUGE Freebirds fan, with my favorite being bad boy Michael "P.S." Hayes. My brother and I would practice wrestling moves (flying off furniture and taking turns landing on one another with an elbow to the gut). Surprisingly, we're both alive and never broke anything! As a teen I decided I was going to attend "Gentleman" Chris Adams school of wrestling but by the time I reached 18, I changed my mind. In 2002, after some life changes, I heard a radio ad about a wrestling promotion. I decided to email them and ask about training. I trained for only a couple months when they asked me to join the MPW tv show as the "sister" to one of the current wrestlers. I would be the girl who broke up the very popular tag team of John Johnson and Pretty Boy Delgado. Though I knew I would be hated, I jumped at the chance at doing my first real acting gig as Delgado's "manager"/"girlfriend" and John Johnson's spoiled/bitchy sister. Within another month, other promotions were booking me for shows. In 2005, a promoter friend was running a show. One of his female wrestlers did not show up so he asked me to fill in. At that point, I had only been a "Manager" and had only had 2 months training back in 2002. I was a little afraid, but I did it. Only came out with a couple injuries. There are a few clips of that match (against the very talented Amber O'neal) in my video section. I cannot begin to tell you how much fun working in wrestling has been.
Some interest include; traveling, long roadtrips with friends, movies, indy pro wrestling, kick boxing, writing stories and poetry.
I love different styles of music. Mostly 80's bands like The Cure, New Order, Erasure, Depeche Mode, Joan Jett, Blondie, Def Leppard, Rick Springfield, Poison, and Duran Duran. I also like One Republic, Gwen Stefani/No Doubt, Of Monsters and Men, FUN., BlackEyed Peas/Fergie, Katy Perry, The Veronicas, Ting Tings, The Flaming Lips, Taylor Swift and many many more.
I'm also a major movie freak! I enjoy alot of martial arts movies, the original Star Wars movies, Princess Bride, Heathers, Highlander, Boondock Saints, and really just too many to mention. I like action movies most of all, but I have to say, I have a soft spot for all things John Hughes.
